Spatial Computing Part 1 Save the Los Angeles Meteorite

Save the Los Angeles Meteorite and Return this Famous Mars-rock to the Griffith Observatory on Kickstarter!

The Los Angeles Meteorite is a rock from Mars that was found by Bob Verish, a rock-hound, in his rock collection in Sunland, California, and was on loan and display in the Griffith Observatory. But it was returned to Bob because his financial situation is making him have to cut-up the rock and sell it to meteorite collectors. Unless... your donations will go towards purchasing this famous Mars-rock, and preserve it, and return it to the Griffith Observatory where it will stay and never be cut-up.

So please check out the above two videos, and see the story of why the LA Mars-rock Meteorite is so special!

Straightpin Los Angeles, CA

The Griffith Observatory is a world famous institution. FOTO stands for "Friends Of The Observatory".

Bob Verish, the rock-hound who found the LA Mars-rock meteorite, is an unemployed aerospace engineer who was laid-off from his job, and subsequently got divorced, and lost his house. But he got to keep his meteorite collection which includes this LA Mars-rock. Before these recent turn of events for Bob, it was his intention to keep his rock on display, here in Los Angeles. But Bob, who at the age of 64, is trying to make a new start in life, needs to sell his LA Meteorite. If Bob cannot find a prospective donor (or donors), he will be forced to sell this beautiful Mars-rock to meteorite collectors, which means that it will be cut-up into many small pieces.

Your donations will help save the LA Mars-rock Meteorite from a dismal fate, which involves coming in contact with a saw-blade, and will allow the Griffith Observatory to purchase from Bob this beautiful rock from Mars, and to preserve it, and to return it to its display case for all of the people of Los Angeles and of this world to view.
